Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of the adidas Group. Since 2001 he has served as the CEO and Deputy Chairman of the adidas AG Executive Board. In the challenging North American market, the company achieved a 14 percent sales growth for the adidas brand and 22 percent sales growth for Reebok. Under Mr. Hainer’s direction, adidas has enhanced the role of sports by fostering social integration at the local, national, and international levels. Events such as the World Cup and the Olympics, which adidas sponsors, demonstrate how sports contribute to global understanding and solidarity. Mr. Hainer firmly believes that “sport can bring the world together. Sport has shown this at countless occasions in the past and we are committed to the positive values found in sport: performance and passion, teamwork and fair play.”
